The Annual Report sets out how our work over the past year contributes to the goals of our 10-year Blueprint for responsible investment.
To mark the PRI’s 10-year anniversary in 2016, we undertook a series of initiatives to review the progress made so far in achieving a sustainable global financial system and to create an ambitious and achievable vision for how the PRI and the wider responsible investment community should develop over the next 10 years.
These activities culminated in the launch of the blueprint, setting the direction of our work for the next decade. The PRI’s 2018-21 strategic plan was then developed to initiate the first stages of that vision.
The strategic plan and the blueprint were the result of significant consultation processes with signatories, stakeholders and the PRI’s Board, which sets out and monitors measures the performance of the PRI Executive.

Enhance our digital capacity
This year we have substantially grown our profile in the media, revitalised and built upon our established communication channels – particularly in social media, and launched some exciting new digital platforms.
Enhance our global footprint
The number of investor signatories increased by 29%, from 2092 to 2701, over the last year, while the number of asset owner signatories increased by 21% to reach 521.
Develop our staff
The PRI commits to ensuring that all individuals who come into contact with the PRI, whether as employees, contractors, consultants, signatories or in other capacities, are treated with dignity and respect.
