This briefing summarises interviews with US signatories regarding the impact of state anti-ESG laws on their business operations. 

The PRI previously published analysis on the potential implications of proposed legislation that seeks torestrict or otherwise discourage use of ESG-related information in investment and stewardship decision-making processes. Following the passage of almost two dozen so-called “anti-ESG” laws in various U.S.states during legislative sessions in 2023, the PRI engaged US signatories to assess the impact ofthese new laws on their business operations.
