We are pleased to share that following the successful launch of 2021 reporting outputs in September, we have released additional updates to the Data Portal to enhance the user experience for signatories. This release introduces functionalities that add value for signatories accessing and interpreting their 2021 reporting outputs. For more information on how to navigate the Data Portal, read our Data Portal guides (PDF) for signatories and public users.
Following the successful launch of 2021 reporting outputs in September, we have released additional updates to the Data Portal to enhance the user experience for signatories. This is the last development for the 2021 reporting cycle – the focus now will be on preparing for the delivery of reporting in 2023.
This release introduces functionalities that add value for signatories accessing and interpreting their 2021 reporting outputs.
Three new features have been added to the Data Portal.
1. Scoring bands to reflect star scoring and a visual representation of PRI median scores have been added to the Assessment Summary Scorecard page.
The PRI median score is the median average based on all PRI signatories that responded to the assessed module and/or asset class/sub-strategy. This score is shown on the Assessment Summary Scorecard page.
For more information on how the scoring bands were translated to star scores, read our full 2021 assessment methodology here.
2. A “Customise Peer Group” function has been added to the Module Scorecard pages, for each assessed module and/or asset class/sub-strategy, which signatories can use to better understand the distribution of Assessment scores.
This function enables signatories to compare their scores to other reporting PRI signatories based on the following categories: 1) Signatory type (Asset Owner or Investment Manager), 2) Geographic region, and 3) Size by AUM band.
This function includes a box plot which shows the peer median score, min/max scores, and quartile scores. It also reflects the scoring bands based on stars. The box plot can be exported as a separate image.
The peer median score is the median average based on signatories which are in the selected peer categories by: (1) Signatory type, (2) Region, and/or (3) Size by AUM band. The peer median score will change based on customisation (i.e. the selected peering categories) in the Data Portal.
For more information on how the scoring bands were translated to star scores, read our full 2021 assessment methodology here.
3. The 2021 public responses dataset has been added as Excel files to the “Other Reports” page (previously “Legacy Reports”).
Sharing the public signatory reporting dataset as an Excel file delivers vital transparency to our signatories and the wider sector. This is not a new practice – the PRI has historically always shared the reporting data in this way. While we stand behind this data as fair and accurate reflection of the period during which it was gathered, we recognise signatories’ concerns around the public release of data which may not best reflect their current practice on responsible investment issues.
To this end, we have implemented disclaimers in the Excel file which outline that this data is not intended to be treated as a current reflection of trends. The PRI firmly believes that we have a duty to run a comprehensive process around the release of reporting data which remains consistent with activity which has taken place in previous years, and we thank signatories for their support in our efforts to this end. The full disclaimer is available here.
