Reporting exemptions will only be considered where material barriers or extenuating circumstances prevent a signatory from fulfilling its reporting requirements. Only signatories for whom it is mandatory to report on the full Reporting Framework will be considered for an exemption.

Signatories that believe they are eligible for an exemption may submit a request between 7 April and 30 May by completing the reporting exemption request form and sending it to [email protected].

There are three types of possible exemptions:

  1. From full reporting – if granted, the signatory will only need to report on the SLS and ORO modules and will not need to complete the rest of the Reporting Framework. This signatory will receive a partial Transparency report consisting of the two modules only.

  2. From all reporting – if granted, the signatory will not need to report at all in 2025. This will only be granted in extenuating circumstances. No reporting outputs (Transparency or Assessment Reports) will be issued.

  3. From transparency requirements – if granted, the signatory will be able to report using an alternative format, such as a Word document version of the 2025 Reporting Framework, instead of using the standard Reporting Tool. This exemption applies to signatories that wish to report but cannot publicly disclose their Transparency Report due to extenuating circumstances. Please note that under this exemption, no reporting outputs will be issued.

The PRI Board, which consists of signatory representatives, will consider in detail the supporting information signatories provide in their exemption request form before making a final decision.
