Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Data Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, transforming, and analysing complex datasets, and visualising the results for a range of audiences. You will support the Data and Analytics team and colleagues throughout the organisation in the preparation and evolution of a variety of data products, as well as through ad-hoc investigations on a variety of topics, ensuring effective data governance is applied throughout.

A significant focus will be on signatory survey data, understanding and validating its complex decision and assessment logic, and transforming and visualising the aggregate datasets in order to drive strategic and tactical insights. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will work to understand the organisation and customer needs and how these can be met through data management and analysis. You will have the confidence to challenge others, influence the decisions being taken and experience in managing ambiguity and conflicting priorities while setting expectations of the achievable outcomes.As well as your subject matter expertise in this role you will ideally have experience of working with global organisations in ESG, Government, Regulatory or the Financial Markets industry.

Core Responsibilities

Data analytics and visualisation:

  • Provide business-as-usual data analytics and visualisation support to internal stakeholders, including translation of the complex survey datasets into digestible formats for various functions.
  • Build business reports, data tools and associated datasets that enable end users and customers to self-serve their reporting needs.
  • Support development and migration to a strategic internal analytics and visualisation solution for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of ad-hoc changes to the signatory reporting framework, as well as to downstream peripheral systems.
  • Become a subject-matter-expert on PRI key performance indicators, used to track global coverage and RI trends in data collected through the signatory reporting framework, alongside other internal and external datasets.

Data connectivity:

  • Provide the technical means and understanding to allow PRI to integrate different data sources into data lakes, reporting schemas and new applications.

Data Governance, Management, and Innovation:

  • Support internal stakeholders in understanding and embedding data governance best-practices, driving their adoption though the data champions network within the organisation.
  • Support the evolution of our data estate, identifying opportunities to evolve our practices, methods, and tools to drive the organisation’s data strategy.

Technical Person Specification

  • Strong data management experience, including advanced SQL, Python / R, and Excel (VBA and Power Pivot).
  • Strong data visualisation experience, with advanced knowledge of common data visualisation platforms, ideally Plotly Dash Enterprise.
  • Experience of modern cloud architectures and tools, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience of building complex data products, including requirements gathering, development, QA and post-go-live support.
  • Experience working on data platform migrations to the cloud is desirable.
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment is desirable.
  • A demonstrable interest of broader technology trends such as graph databases, AI and innovative cloud technologies is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written; experienced in translating technical topics for a business audience concisely.
