Improving the quality of climate change disclosure
In cooperation with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), since 2010 a group of 20 PRI signatories have engaged with companies in carbon intensive sectors that received bottom-quartile CDP disclosure scores – meaning that the company has not reported its GHG emissions or demonstrated a consideration of business risks associated with climate change.
Between a 25-40% of the companies that the group contacted in 2010, 2011 and 2012 significantly improved their CDP disclosure in the following year. In 2012 the success rate doubled to nearly 50% among companies with which investors had a more in-depth discussion.
